How It Works
Cold laser therapy (also called low level light therapy) uses specific frequencies of red and near-infrared light. These light waves are directed through the skin, where they are absorbed by the cells of the affected tissues. There, they create a reaction in the mitochondria, which is the energy source of the cell, and this reaction stimulates the body’s own healing process.
The result is increased blood flow to the area, which brings oxygen and healing nutrients to help repair the damaged muscles, tendons, joints or other tissues.
Unlike other types of lasers, such as those used in surgery or as cutting tools, our Class IV medical laser does not produce any heat and is non-invasive.

Laser therapy can be an ideal method of addressing both acute and chronic joint or muscle pain. It’s an effective adjunct to chiropractic care—your adjustments restore proper alignment and movement to the joint, while the laser helps repair the tissues at a cellular level.
What to Expect
If Dr. Fell believes this therapy will benefit you, he’ll recommend adding it to your care plan. Each laser session lasts just 1-3 minutes, and it is included in your chiropractic appointment with no additional fee.
You may feel some warmth in the area being worked on; this is due to increased blood flow to the area, as the laser itself produces no heat. The process is painless, and many people feel some improvement after just one session. It may take a series of sessions to achieve full relief.
